Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree program provides general accounting education to students wanting to pursue a professional career in Accountancy in general and in Public Accounting Practice in particular. Graduates of this program will be involved in providing assurance and audit services for statutory financial reporting, management advisory services, performance and control systems, tax-related services, and providing consultancy services and expertise in financial reporting and controls to various stakeholders to assist them in making economic decisions. The BSA offers a four-year accounting degree program, and enrollees must complete a total of 188 academic units to graduate from the program. The primary purpose of the program is to produce competent and ethical professional accountants capable of making a positive contribution over their lifetime to the profession and to the society in which they work.

The Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA) degree program provides general accounting education to students wanting to pursue a professional career in management accounting. This program involves partnering in management decision-making, devising planning and performance management systems, and providing expertise in financial reporting and controls to assist management in the formulation and implementation of an organization’s strategy. The BSMA offers a four-year management accounting degree program, and enrollees must complete a total of 179 academic units to graduate from the program. The primary purpose of the program is to provide a foundation of professional knowledge, skills, professional values and attitudes that will enable the graduates to continuously learn and adapt to changes throughout their professional lives.
